I want to place a kitchen against a wall that is covered with lime plaster and silicate paint.
It is a ground floor room without a basement, and I have to expect that this wall may become damp during heavy rainfall. Normally, the moisture can dry into the room, but if furniture is placed in front of it, that won’t be possible.
I have some ideas such as
Is there perhaps a professional solution to this problem?
What would you do?
I want to place a kitchen against a wall that is covered with lime plaster and silicate paint.
It is a ground floor room without a basement, and I have to expect that this wall may become damp during heavy rainfall. Normally, the moisture can dry into the room, but if furniture is placed in front of it, that won’t be possible.
I have some ideas such as
- leaving a gap between the wall and the furniture (about 10cm (4 inches)), but I don’t think that is a nice solution
- installing a pipe with holes along the bottom of the wall, where a hairdryer or similar device could blow warm air in (depending on the season, temperature, etc.)
Is there perhaps a professional solution to this problem?
What would you do?
