Hello everyone,

During the renovation of my upper floor, the correct placement of the vapor barrier(s) is unfortunately not entirely clear to me.

Until now, the upper floor was divided. There was a heated living area and an unheated attic. The roofer who installed the new windows gave my wife the idea to leave half of the attic "open" (exposed beams remain visible).
The rafters in the "open area" will be doubled, and the vapor barrier will be installed across the gable to the other side.

Problem:
In one part of the room, there are still the walls of the corridor and a bathroom. Image 2 shows the part of the roof that is actually supposed to be extended up to the gable as well. The panels are to be removed to the wall and then rebuilt upwards to the roof after drywall installation.
Image 3 shows the attic section in the same direction that is to remain. The right 4 sections are my problem because underneath are the corridor and the bathroom.
Image 5 shows access to these sections, and images 3 and 4 show the corresponding exits from the attic.

Here, I’m unsure about the connection.

Is it necessary to install 2 separate chambers? That is, a "warm" and a "cold" attic area?
Am I saving effort by excluding only the attic part below from the vapor barrier connection with logical losses, sealing off the vapor barrier at the top and starting it anew below?
How would you solve this?

P.S. Opening the bathroom ceiling is not an option, as the bathroom was renovated 2 years ago (before our ownership) 😉
P.P.S. I hope my problem is somewhat understandable...

Regards, Tobi
