Hello,

My girlfriend and I plan to convert the attic from my father-in-law. The stairs and connections are already in place. Insulation, windows, flooring, and walls still need to be done.

I’ve started working on a floor plan… actually 4-5, but this one seems to be the best.

The knee wall is planned at 1.20 meters (4 feet), with a roof pitch of 38 degrees, reaching 2 meters (6.5 feet) down from 1.10 meters (3.6 feet) height…
What do you think?

Is the benchmark of 1000 €/m² (93 USD/ft²) accurate for self-performed work? (Electrical, walls, laminate flooring, painting)

If you have this planned professionally, roughly how much would it cost?

A lot of questions and requests...

Thanks in advance

Butzi

Could you please draw the 2m (6.5 feet) lines?

For example, the children's room already seems hardly usable like this. With the sloped ceiling, it would be even less so. Are the 11m² (118.4 ft²) the gross floor area or the net living area?

The floor area is 11 sqm (118 sq ft)...
The line is marked.
I checked the plans again. 2 meters (79 inches) are reached after 1017 mm (40 inches).

I find the idea of placing the entire kitchen unit under the sloping ceiling quite interesting. This applies both for the sink area and the cooktop. However, you likely won’t be allowed to operate the cooktop there due to insufficient clearance from the ceiling/sloping roof.

Where is the staircase or stairway?

I think next to the kitchen.

The cooktop is on the island, but the sink is not.
