I want to place and secure a Besta storage bench on top of a horizontal 2x4 Expedit unit. What is the best way to attach the two together? Do you have any tips?

Just glue it together... For the Expedit, simply create a substructure to raise the whole thing higher...

If I glue it, I won’t be very flexible for any future remodeling.
Regardless... wouldn’t you have to sand the areas where you want to glue?
