raumnutzer2 Sep 2012 19:41I want to place and secure a Besta storage bench on top of a horizontal 2x4 Expedit unit. What is the best way to attach the two together? Do you have any tips?

I would mount 4 Capita console legs between Expedit and BESTA.

oh dear, you have quite a project ahead. Essentially, there is no direct way to fasten the Expedit and Besta units together. Both have only a thin chipboard surface with a paper honeycomb core in between. It’s probably possible to attach both with some kind of adapter carrier panel and then connect them, but visually this might not look very appealing.
Maybe someone else has an idea, otherwise I’m really doubtful about it.
Best regards

So it wouldn’t stand out much. For me, the main priority is practicality and feasibility. Above all, whether the legs can support the Besta. It needs to be fixed in place anyway, since the entire structure extends into the room and doesn’t have a supporting wall at the back.

IKEA-Experte2 Sep 2012 23:52I wouldn’t recommend trying that with these lightweight panels. The facing boards are very thin, so screws won’t hold unless you hit a strip of particleboard, if one is present. For such panels, Hettich offers "Hettich inject." Whether this is suitable for your purposes, you will need to find out yourself.

raumnutzer3 Sep 2012 08:58This is quite a science in itself. I have now looked up some Expedit projects online, and it seems to work well there. People use them for DJ booths, reception desks, and so on. It also seems to be stable. I do need to find a solution, though. I want to use the Besta for my two printers so they don’t take up space on my already too small desk. The Expedit standing in front of my desk would therefore be ideal for mounting them on...
