Hello everyone,

I want to hang two decorative shelves in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, I noticed in our construction phase photos that the water pipe runs exactly where I planned to drill.

So, we can't drill there.

Do you have any tips on how to hang the shelves anyway? Are there any good adhesives or mounting solutions?

Best regards,
Ivonne

Yes, every hardware store offers various hooks, adhesives, etc.
Towels, toilet paper holders... Everything is just glued in our case.

What do you plan to put on the shelves, or what weight will they need to support?
You might need to adjust their position slightly to avoid the water pipe when drilling.

What does your wall construction look like in general?

Are these pieces made of metal? Is the wall plastered and painted? Can you fix the pieces with a nail until the adhesive sets? Then buy a tube of Sikaflex black—90 ml (3 fl oz) costs about 10, and the 300 ml (10 fl oz) cartridge is only slightly more expensive. Use Sikaflex 291. Apply a small amount to each spot where the screws should go, attach the pieces, fix them in place. Wait two hours, and you’re done.

In that case, I would rather recommend "Pattex - glue instead of drilling." However, it is important to specify the load the shelf needs to support.

Given the size, they definitely won’t want to put a crate of beer in there. And three, four, or five kilograms can easily be supported with "adhesive mounting" instead of drilling.
