...- am I being too picky?
Our basket arch above the future front door was built and looks like this:

Red brick wall with rounded arch opening and black hand graphic.

In my opinion, the joint distribution in the arch should look like this (poor photo editing):

Opinions among friends and family range from "What do you even mean?" to "Oh, that’s not acceptable!"
About twenty observed house entrances with sandstone elements have a strictly symmetrical pattern.

First question (visual): What do you think?
Second question (technical): Is it possible to remove individual bricks from an arch, or would it need to be completely exposed from above to do so?

The bricklayer wasn’t paying attention there. The correction isn’t that complicated, so I would have it fixed. After all, it’s permanent. 😉
