Hello!
I’m a bit concerned right now. We bought an apartment in a building from the 1960s and I have been checking the existing flooring because we want to install glued hardwood flooring.
Under the laminate, I found a layer that looks like linoleum based on its texture, with these crossed fibers on the underside. I cut a piece and lifted it up, and only afterwards did I read that linoleum from that era can contain asbestos, as can the adhesive used for hardwood flooring. Do you think the dark layer is hardwood adhesive or an asbestos paper layer on the back of the flooring? I know it needs to be analyzed to be sure, but maybe someone has come across something like this during a renovation of an older building. Thanks a lot for any advice!
