Hello. I recently bought a house with asbestos cement panels installed on a wooden framework on the facade. Since I want to keep these panels in place because completely removing and re-cladding would be too expensive, I have a question.

Is it possible to cover the facade with an exterior adhesive plaster and then apply a textured or scratch plaster on top? I’m not sure if these panels might shift or move in any way and cause cracks in the plaster later on.

If it is asbestos cement, I would consider the idea from the memoirs of @goalkeepers mayor to plaster the panels. This way, they would only weigh more if they were disposed of as hazardous waste at the landfill. However, I have doubts about the material assumption given the construction year of 1985. Eternit does not necessarily mean asbestos.
