ᐅ Is this arrangement of ceiling spotlights in the bathroom okay?

Hello everyone,

We have now completed the bathroom layout for our new condominium and just need to properly position the ceiling spotlights. At the moment, this is the arrangement we have come up with (see attached image).

We purposely do not want a spotlight in the shower and want to manage with only 5 spotlights. By the way, a tall cabinet will be placed in the upper right corner, and there will be a mirror with LED lighting above the washbasin.

From your point of view, does the spotlight arrangement make sense, or would you change anything?

Should we position the spotlight near the washbasin differently to avoid potential shadows on the face?

And why not have a 6th spot in the shower?
I would recommend 2 switches so that the right and left rows of spots can be controlled separately. If the bathroom is only used for the toilet and sink, you can just use the right spots.

Thank you for your reply. Originally, we wanted a rain shower, and a spotlight in the shower would have caused shadows due to the rain shower head. However, we have now changed to a standard shower rail with a handheld showerhead, so a spotlight could actually be installed there. The question remains regarding splash water, but there are spotlights with suitable IP ratings for that.

We are not the problem – our son is the splash master...

Does anyone possibly have spotlights directly above the washbasin and could briefly comment on whether there is any harsh shadowing?

You are correct about the shading. A separate light source is definitely needed at the mirror, independently from ceiling spotlights. Light panels or something similar.
