ChimpskaWe have two rows of spotlights – one closer to the cabinets (to reduce shadows when standing near them), and one centered above what you call the island. With your current plan, that area would be too dark for my liking.
I would also arrange the spotlights more symmetrically. Right now, there is a bend in the layout. I’d prefer two spotlights from the side near the sink instead of one directly above it.

Did a kitchen planner handle the design? Ours also included the lighting layout along with a light simulation.
Do you really want the cooktop that close to the edge of the countertop? I understand you want a larger uninterrupted work surface, but this way a lot of grease, etc., ends up on the floor.
