Hello everyone,
my wife and I do not want a plastered wall at the front of the garage.
We are thinking of something with a wood finish.
Can WPC decking boards be used for this, or do they need to be "special" boards?

During the day, we are in the shade in front of the house, so there is no direct sunlight.

How did you cover it?
Not at all yet. But I’m planning to use rhombus cladding (possibly pre-weathered). WPC would be too expensive and looks terrible to me...

These floorboards are more expensive than wall cladding!

You can, for example, use planed battens or have 12cm (5 inches) smooth edged boards cut down to 6cm (2.5 inches) at the sawmill (or 14cm (5.5 inches) to 7cm (2.75 inches), etc.) or take whole boards and screw them onto battens like rhombus cladding, either lengthwise or crosswise, painted or untreated. It can look stylish, costs little, and you can even hang plants or attach other things to it. Easy to do, affordable, and allows for individual design.

When it comes to wooden facade cladding that aims to avoid the "this is how it’s done twenty times in this neighborhood" effect at affordable conditions, I would simply copy the basic idea from @Climbee to install a "random pattern" using slats of varying widths.

What do you mean by "random pattern"? Installing the boards in a mixed, non-uniform way?
