Good evening everyone!

We are currently planning our house (still just in our minds at the moment, but hopefully soon officially). I am wondering if it is possible to build some walls from wood in a solid masonry house. Partly for cost reasons, but not only that.

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Funny – over here: https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/holzhaus-innenwaende-aus-stein.35568/ someone asks about the opposite combination. Would you like to share your reasons and expectations behind this?
Such special mixes are actually really quite unusual / highly unconventional / advanced, not for beginners or rookies – and they almost inevitably make me suspect some very naive thinking behind it, which advanced builders would never even consider (?)

Solid house with interior walls in prefabricated construction.
Common among self-builders of mid to lower standard, often used on upper floors. Saves time (drying, masonry, and also in structural engineering because it is lighter). Disadvantages: different movement of components and expansion, leading to cracks. Few are tolerated, many are complained about.

I don’t believe that timber stud framing is cheaper than these metal battens.

In addition to the Ypg points. No mandatory certification required for drywall installation. Anyone is allowed to build the interior walls.

But does @MiCasaEsSuCasa perhaps mean solid wood walls? Drywall construction is quite common, as ypg already mentioned.

By the way, in our timber frame house we are doing a solid wall—just the other way around.
