Good morning everyone,
I have a Billy bookshelf from Ikea in my apartment, and I’ve noticed that the doors, especially when moved frequently, tend to be quite noisy and sometimes a bit stiff. I’m very interested to know if anyone has tips or proven methods to make the door movements on the Billy as quiet and smooth as possible.
I’m thinking about possible adjustments to the hinges, lubricants, or other technical tricks. Maybe there are specific replacement parts for the doors that could improve opening and closing.
I would appreciate any helpful advice, especially if it can be done without major modifications. Thanks in advance!

When attaching new hinges or dampers, pay attention to the spacing so the door does not jam.Exactly! I would even recommend measuring carefully with a ruler or a gauge before drilling. Anyone who is not precise here can easily end up with more problems than before.
