Hello,

we have two units. The utility room contains the main meter from the local utility company, and each unit has its own separate analog water meter to measure water consumption individually.

We would like to replace the meters in both units. Is there a recommendation for installing digital water meters that can be read via an app? We do not want to use a service provider like Ista or Techem, as we manage everything ourselves.

Best regards

Hi,

I believe the water meters are always supplied by the provider. They are "calibrated" and replaced every 7 years anyway.

No, there isn’t a specific recommendation. However, there are various suppliers of suitable devices (ultrasonic water meters) – as far as I know, only for cold water and mostly intended for larger consumers. These devices usually operate via wireless communication and/or can be integrated into reading systems used by meter reading companies. For private use, you would probably need to do some DIY work.
Additionally, these devices tend to be quite expensive.

I only know the GROHE Sense Guard in digital form.

It also includes a monitoring unit for water pipe bursts or similar issues.

However, without installation, it costs around 1,000 euros.

I have a cyble sensor installed on our meter by the utility company.
