Good morning everyone,
I have a question that might seem a bit unusual at first, but I believe it’s relevant for many users of Ikea furniture: Are there spare parts for the Ikea Brimnes furniture system that are commonly needed and easy to purchase?
I’m not only referring to basic mechanical parts like screws or handles, but also specific components such as hinges, drawer runners, or possibly even the back panels. For example, I’ve noticed that the drawer runners on my Brimnes dresser wear out quite quickly, and I’d like to know if Ikea offers replacement parts for such wear items directly, or if you have to rely on third-party suppliers.
Maybe there are also parts that are particularly vulnerable, where it makes sense to proactively keep spares on hand? I’m looking forward to your experiences and advice!

Let's be honest, Ikea might be convenient, but the issue with replacement parts for the Brimnes line clearly shows that the furniture is designed for a short service life. Sure, you can buy drawer slides and handles, but why not just get something more durable instead of constantly having to source spare parts?
It would make more sense to invest in long-lasting furniture that isn’t as prone to repairs, rather than choosing cheap stuff. Maybe I’m just old-fashioned.

For the money you'd spend on more expensive furniture instead of Brimnes, you could almost buy replacement parts for several years 😉

Sometimes a replacement is also a great opportunity to really freshen up the piece and maybe feel a bit proud for having repaired it! 😊
