tar49Hello everyone,
I recently bought an IKEA KALLAX shelving unit and want to protect the corners from possible bumps, especially since there are small children in the household. I’m wondering if there are self-adhesive bumpers or corner protectors designed specifically for the KALLAX corners that can be easily and securely attached without damaging the frame or material.
So far, I haven’t been able to find anything really specific in my research; most common corner protectors seem to be intended for tables or walls. Maybe someone here knows of suitable products or can share tips that match the dimensions and materials of the KALLAX?
Thanks in advance for your help!

whether there are self-adhesive bumpers or corner protectors specifically for KALLAX cornersHi tar49,
I haven’t seen any self-adhesive bumpers made specifically for KALLAX, but I would just use narrow, flexible corner protectors made from rubber or silicone that can easily be trimmed to size. You can then attach them with double-sided tape or a suitable installation-friendly adhesive.
Since KALLAX has a somewhat rough surface, really strong glue usually sticks well — just be gentle when applying so they can be removed cleanly if needed. My kids have had good experiences with self-adhesive corner protectors from hardware stores for table protection.
That could be an option before looking for specialized solutions. Good luck and Happy New Year in advance! 😊

As an alternative, universal corner protectors made of silicone or foam, which can be attached with double-sided tape, are recommended.
In terms of size, the bumpers should be chosen to fit well on the 5 cm (2 inch) thick KALLAX edges.
Most customers also opt for removable adhesive films or protective profiles to prevent material damage.
I recommend paying attention to compatible materials and removable adhesives when purchasing, to avoid leaving residue on the surface.

I haven’t actually seen any "self-adhesive bumpers for KALLAX" yet I agree with that. I used regular corner protectors, originally designed for stair railings, on my KALLAX. They were very easy to apply and stick really well. You can even remove them without leaving any residue.

Universal corner protectors made of silicone or foam are recommended The material really matters because the surface of the KALLAX isn’t completely smooth. So I would be cautious with adhesives. Still, there are great options available that are child-friendly and flexible.
Conclusion: There are no self-adhesive bumpers made specifically for KALLAX, but suitable universal solutions can be found at any hardware store or online. Should work fine! 🙂
