Hello everyone, I have a rather specific question: Are there spare parts available for IKEA Platsa doors and hinges? Specifically, I am looking for options to replace individual doors or their hinges without having to buy the entire unit again. I have heard that IKEA sometimes provides spare parts, but this doesn't always seem clear, especially with Platsa. Does anyone have experience with ordering spare parts like doors, hinges, or fittings separately? What are the options if you want to replace just one door due to damage, for example? I would appreciate any advice, especially regarding sources or official possibilities through IKEA.

Yes, replacement parts are available for PLATSA doors and hinges at IKEA. Just contact IKEA customer service or search for spare parts directly in the online store. Hinges are usually easy to obtain, doors less so, but individual components are generally available.

For your reference: IKEA does offer replacement parts for the PLATSA system, but availability varies depending on the product and location. Hinges can often be ordered through customer service, as they are common components. Doors, however, may be more problematic because they might not be listed individually depending on the series and color. It is advisable to have the series number or product number ready when contacting IKEA to find the correct version. Alternatively, calling or visiting an IKEA store can help check the stock of replacement parts on site. Inquiring about possible external sources can also be useful, but official replacement parts remain the most reliable option.

I’m happy to provide a more detailed explanation. Basically, IKEA offers replacement parts for the PLATSA system, but since the doors are often produced in various sizes, colors, and designs, not all versions are always available in stock. The hinges are usually the simpler components and can generally be ordered separately without issues. However, if the door itself is affected, I recommend, as Lotizar already mentioned, first finding the exact product specification. Replacement parts can often be ordered via the IKEA customer service number or by contacting the store directly. Sometimes individual doors are also kept in stock there as returns or display samples. If the official route is not successful, there are actually online communities or classified ads where users trade or sell replacements or spare parts. However, dimensions need to match exactly—otherwise, it can quickly become complicated. One tip: when removing parts, carefully measure the replacements or take photos; this helps when making inquiries.

That's correct, especially the PLATSA hinges are common and often available as spare parts at IKEA.

I would add: If IKEA does not have a suitable door as a spare part, it is sometimes possible to adapt or retrofit doors from similar series if the dimensions and fittings are roughly compatible. This does not apply to hinges – you should always use original parts for these because of the precise fit. Otherwise, the door may not close properly.
