I wanted to ask the community if there are official replacement parts available for damaged Malm furniture components and how to best obtain them. Specifically, I am interested in a damaged drawer slide for a MALM dresser unit from IKEA, manufactured around 2016. Are there reliable sources for such parts, or do you generally have to rely on third-party suppliers or DIY solutions? It would also be helpful to know whether IKEA sells individual parts like these or only replaces entire furniture pieces.

IKEA once sent me replacement parts free of charge after I submitted the purchase receipt and a photo of the defective part. Try contacting their customer service.

I remember that I was actually able to get a single drawer slide for my Malm chest of drawers at IKEA without much hassle. There was a bit of a delay, but the support was friendly. So it’s always worth following up! 🙂

Sometimes the IKEA replacement parts platform "IKEA Spare Parts" (if available in your country) can be helpful. There, you can specifically search for parts that are officially sold.

I have also contacted IKEA by email, but so far I have not received a response. Has anyone else had experience with how quickly and reliably IKEA responds to such specific replacement part inquiries?

Or are there any known experiences with third-party replacement parts that fit really well?

It took nearly two weeks for IKEA customer service to respond to me. Sometimes, going directly to the store and asking for spare parts in person can be more helpful.
