Hello everyone, I’m currently facing an issue with the IKEA Hemnes wardrobe I recently purchased. As you know, the Hemnes range is quite extensive, but unfortunately, my delivery is missing an important connecting part – specifically, a special bolt that ensures the stability of the module. My question is: Are there any quick solutions or proven practical strategies to replace missing parts for IKEA Hemnes without having to wait a long time for replacements? I would like to know if these spare parts can be easily reordered from IKEA, perhaps even online, or if there are alternative methods that are especially helpful in time-sensitive furniture projects. I’d appreciate any tips and experiences, especially how you have dealt with similar situations in the past.
Regarding the technical aspect, the absence of a small connecting piece can sometimes have serious consequences for the load-bearing capacity of a piece of furniture. Based on experience, I would strongly advise against just using any replacement from a hardware store when it comes to the dowel connections of Hemnes, as the material thickness and thread are often special. However, IKEA customer service is actually very helpful. A useful tip is to photograph the original assembly diagram and part number beforehand and present them directly to customer service. Additionally, replacement parts can often be requested by phone directly through the furniture warranty, which is often faster. Can you specify exactly which part is missing?
Thank you for the feedback so far! This is a special metal bolt with threading that connects the individual cabinet parts – referred to as part 'A12' in the assembly instructions. A standard wood connector piece doesn’t fit here, as this part also stabilizes the drawer slide. I will keep in mind the idea of a phone call and the form. Can anyone share how quickly a replacement part from IKEA has actually arrived in the past? 1-2 days or more like a week?
The roof rafters from IKEA are usually delivered very quickly. Most of the time, IKEA supplies replacement parts within 3-5 days. One or two days is rather an exception. I would recommend calling customer service directly before ordering online. That way, you will get more precise information.

If the delivery time exceeds one week, I would recommend going directly to the branch in person to inquire manually and possibly ask for a goodwill gesture. Sometimes there are internal stock supplies that are not immediately visible online. Communication with the service staff is crucial to avoid unnecessary delays.

The "Dachsbälger" at IKEA are usually very fast. I borrowed that term directly! I also think IKEA is generally quite quick. Still, when your mood is up, a missing part only brings it down briefly – then things start looking up again. I hope the solution doesn't keep you waiting too long!
