ᐅ Are there quick solutions for missing parts in IKEA Hemnes furniture?

MefofeHello everyone, I’m currently facing an issue with the IKEA Hemnes wardrobe I recently purchased. As you know, the Hemnes range is quite extensive, but unfortunately, my delivery is missing an important connecting part – specifically, a special bolt that ensures the stability of the module. My question is: Are there any quick solutions or proven practical strategies to replace missing parts for IKEA Hemnes without having to wait a long time for replacements? I would like to know if these spare parts can be easily reordered from IKEA, perhaps even online, or if there are alternative methods that are especially helpful in time-sensitive furniture projects. I’d appreciate any tips and experiences, especially how you have dealt with similar situations in the past.

IKEA has a spare parts shop, but the stock varies by region. If you need a quick solution, it’s worth checking whether your nearest IKEA store has a spare parts department with immediate availability. Alternatively, hardware stores can be an option, but only for very simple parts, since exact measurements are crucial. It’s important to have the exact part number from the assembly instructions or the box. The IKEA online reorder process usually involves filling out a form – spare parts are often delivered within a few days, but not necessarily overnight. Have you already checked if the part might be in stock at the store or if it generally has a specific delivery time?
Hey, I’m very familiar with the Hemnes issue – I had a similar experience myself! In my opinion, IKEA’s customer service is quite responsive as long as you have the product model number ready. If you’re a bit impatient, you can actually look for similar bolts at a hardware store. They might not fit perfectly, but if it’s just a temporary fix, they usually work fine. However, be careful—my “almost” fix could be risky in terms of stability, so it’s better not to rely on it for too long 😉.
That’s typical Hemnes – nice products, but sometimes something is missing. I once called the IKEA store spontaneously, and they even sent me the replacement part by mail without requiring much bureaucratic proof that something was missing. Unfortunately, back then this only worked for smaller parts. If you decide to go this route: there is now a "Assembly & Spare Parts Service" form on the IKEA website, which is quite fast. 😊
By the way, something else that might help: if you need the part quickly and don’t want to wait for restocking from IKEA, check eBay or other classified ads. Many people sell used Hemnes parts or individual pieces at a low price. Sometimes you can even pick up the missing part midweek. This is convenient when you don’t have an IKEA nearby.
