Are there any practical tips for transporting IKEA Platsa furniture? I am about to pick up several Platsa units that are quite bulky and want to do this as safely and efficiently as possible. I am especially interested in how to best prepare the individual modules, which tools or aids are useful, and if there are any special tricks to avoid damage to the furniture and the vehicle. Additionally, I would like to know if there are specific loading sequences that can make transport easier. I look forward to your experiences and recommendations!

It’s very reassuring when you feel that nothing is just shifting around during transport. You described that well – this is exactly my main concern. How do you secure the Platsa modules in the vehicle? I only have a small car, so space is tight.

With small cars, it’s especially important to pack everything tightly and use ratchet straps or tie-downs that can be attached to the vehicle frame. A solid base, such as a rubber mat, also helps prevent slipping. If necessary, pack individual components by weight, placing the heaviest items at the bottom.
I understand the stress of having a small car. It quickly feels like playing Tetris with fully packed boxes and bulky modules. Maybe try breaking down the large items and transporting them in multiple trips. Carrying less at a time may take longer, but it protects your nerves and your furniture.
