Hello everyone, I was wondering if there are any concrete plans or official developments from Ikea aimed at combining the two wardrobe series Platsa and Pax. I’m asking because I currently use both systems and would like to merge the modular advantages of Platsa with the extensive interior options of Pax into a single unit. Are there any details about whether Ikea intends to make these two product lines compatible or plans to create interfaces in the future that would facilitate their joint use? I would appreciate any experiences or informed insights, perhaps from people who keep up to date or even have contacts at Ikea.

Community solutions often rely on simple adapters and angle connectors from hardware stores, which are specifically installed where the carcasses meet.

That is helpful information. I will have to prepare for a hands-on solution and pay special attention to stability and material load during planning. I am also interested in the visual aspect: Do you have any experience with how to best harmonize the appearance of the different systems? For example, color matching or built-in elements that enhance the overall unified look, so it’s not immediately obvious that two different series are combined?

A consistent appearance can mainly be achieved through the following measures:
- Using the same or similar colors and finishes for doors and cabinet fronts
- Installing uniform handles, as different models tend to stand out
- Covering joints with moldings that match the cabinet color
- Using interior accessories that appear similar in both systems
Direct combinations are technically challenging, but by paying attention to these details, a seamless arrangement is quite possible. The main challenge remains the technical adaptation, but visually a lot can be accomplished.
