Hello everyone,
I am currently looking into the IKEA Platsa system and wondering if there are specific versions within this range that are especially multifunctional.
In particular, I’m interested in whether certain components or combinations are designed to serve multiple purposes—such as storage, workspace, or room divider—without requiring much additional accessory.
Does anyone have experience with or know examples of especially flexible solutions in the PLATSA range that go beyond the usual? I would appreciate any information, including setup tips or specific models that achieve the goal of multifunctionality particularly well.

That’s exactly right. Personally, I think the small corner solutions are great to play with—they really give you that extra boost to use the space cleverly while staying flexible. Imagine having a cabinet that holds books on one side but also serves as a hidden compartment for stuff behind sliding doors on the other—it’s so practical!

There isn’t a single version that is inherently more multifunctional than others. Rather, the strength lies in how you combine models and enhance them with accessories like shelves, sliding doors, or trims.

PLATSA is truly one of IKEA’s most flexible systems. It can be very well adapted to multifunctional needs. Especially interesting are the models where you can choose the depth yourself – this way you can create shallow work surfaces and organize storage space behind them. Thanks for the tip! What would you say about workspace integration? Is it possible to connect PLATSA with certain modules to create a comfortable workstation that also provides storage?

Personally, I think you can have a lot of fun with the small corner solutions—they really give you a boost to use the space smartly while staying flexible at the same time. Are there any recommendations on which corner modules work best for creating something like a small desk or workstation?
