I currently have a small issue with furnishing my new apartment, which unfortunately does not offer much space. I am now considering whether the Ikea Platsa series actually includes models that work well for small rooms, specifically options with a slim depth, flexible modules, or special combinations that allow you to make the most of limited storage space without the furniture appearing bulky. Are there any people here who have had positive experiences with PLATSA in small, tight living spaces or tips on which models are particularly recommended? How flexible is the system for fitting a lot into a small area? I look forward to your feedback.

Hello, I have been using PLATSA for some time in my small studio apartment. The system is very modular, allowing you to customize the width, height, and depth of many units. For small spaces, the narrow modules with a depth of 30 or 40 cm (12 or 16 inches) are especially recommended, as they offer plenty of storage without taking up too much room.

It’s important to combine different heights: for example, a low base unit with a narrow tall cabinet above can provide storage without overwhelming the space. You can also mix closed cabinet doors with open shelves to create an airy feel.

Many people make the mistake of choosing units that are too large. Make sure the modules can fit through narrow doorways if the space is difficult to access.

Summary:
- Consider depths of 30-40 cm (12-16 inches)
- Combine low and tall units
- Mix open and closed elements
- Plan carefully with exact room measurements in advance

If you like, I can also offer tips for planning or share some examples.

Yes, PLATSA is well suited for small spaces. Use narrow modules and combine them more flexibly. You can design the layout individually, building more vertically than horizontally.

I fully agree with that. It is also important to consider the ceiling height to make full use of the storage space. PLATSA offers flexible connectors that work well for corners and unusual room shapes. This makes the series particularly suitable for small, awkwardly shaped rooms.

Just use the narrow PLATSA units, which have a depth of 30cm (12 inches); they fit well in small spaces. Stay modular and build upwards as much as possible, that way it will fit.

If the rooms are small: use PLATSA units with narrow depth and tall modules, and work with doors; otherwise, the space can quickly look cluttered.
