ᐅ Are there IKEA PLATSA furniture models with glass fronts?

I am currently looking more closely into the Ikea PLATSA system, specifically regarding whether there are furniture models with glass fronts available. I have seen several PLATSA variants, but most are plain solid wood doors or open shelves. It’s important to me that the furniture is flexibly modular, and a glass front would be ideal to keep items visible while protecting them from dust.

Can you confirm if Ikea PLATSA actually offers versions with glass fronts, or at least suitable glass door/window elements? Or does one have to look at other series within Ikea’s range if glass fronts are desired?

The PLATSA series officially does not include glass fronts in its standard range.

For glass fronts, you either need to switch to other Ikea series or find suitable glass fronts yourself and adapt them. This is not easy, as the dimensions are quite specific.

I can only confirm that! I have a few PLATSA modules myself and find them very flexible, but for glass fronts, I went with BESTÅ. They look high-quality, are easy to combine, and offer attractive glass surfaces to showcase decorations nicely.

By the way, Ikea also offers individual glass shelves for PLATSA, but no complete glass fronts. So if you want a partly open shelf look with some protection, that can be a good compromise!

If visibility and dust protection are your priorities, the little trick with glass shelves combined with the regular doors can help. 🙂
