Hello everyone,
I am currently planning the layout for my small bathroom, which is only about 3 square meters (32 square feet). I came across the IKEA Platsa system, which seems very flexible due to its modular design. My main question is: Does the IKEA Platsa range include suitable furniture or solutions specifically designed for small bathrooms?
I am mainly looking for storage ideas that take up little space, such as narrow cabinets or space-saving combinations. Perhaps someone has experience using this system in a bathroom setting or knows about any planned extensions. It is also important to me whether the furniture is moisture-resistant and durable enough for bathroom use.
Thank you in advance for your insights and tips!

Can you explain exactly what "wet zones" are?Sure, these are areas that frequently come into contact with water or have very high humidity levels. For example, directly around the sink, in the shower, or near the bathtub. Furniture in these areas is often exposed to constant splashes of water.

Are there alternatives at IKEA that are better suited for bathrooms than PLATSA?IKEA offers some bathroom cabinets with water-resistant surfaces, such as the Godmorgon or LILLÅNGEN series. These are less modular than PLATSA but feature special coatings and materials optimized for bathroom use.
My advice: use a combination of PLATSA (for areas with low moisture) and dedicated bathroom furniture for wet zones. This way, you get both flexibility and protection.
I love PLATSA and have installed it in my small bathroom! 😊
There are great options to combine the modules in a very space-saving way, and you can get really creative. Of course, you need to be careful that no moisture comes into direct contact with them. But if you raise the furniture slightly and don’t place it directly next to the shower or sink, they hold up very well.
My tip: Choose light-colored fronts—they look fresh and spacious. Use the adjustable height of the cabinets to create storage space above the door or toilet as well. Just try it out, it’s definitely worth it!
