Hello everyone, I am currently planning the layout of my future bedroom and considering using an Ikea PAX wardrobe as a storage solution. I am particularly interested in whether there are any PAX wardrobe models or components that include an integrated shoe rack or a dedicated shoe storage feature.
My goal is to store shoes in an organized and space-saving way inside the wardrobe, without needing a separate shoe rack. I have already looked through the product pages and some forums, but I am unsure whether the Ikea PAX system includes such integrated shoe racks by default or if additional accessories or modifications are required.
Perhaps someone here has experience with whether Ikea officially offers a module with an integrated shoe rack or if it is possible to customize PAX elements to create this kind of shoe storage. I think it is very important to also consider everyday practicality when integrating shoes into a PAX wardrobe.
That is exactly what I have done, and it does make accessing the shoes easier. However, it should be noted that a PAX wardrobe with closed doors is not very well ventilated, so shoes that are worn frequently could develop a musty smell if stored too long in airtight conditions.
Furthermore, I have considered whether integrated shoe drawers could be an alternative, but I have concluded that with PAX this is only possible by using drawer inserts or completely custom modifications. If anyone has specific experience with such custom solutions, I would appreciate it if they could share.
