Hello everyone, I am looking for smart cable management solutions specifically for Ikea Besta furniture. These cabinet and shelving systems are quite flexible but often lack built-in or well-thought-out options to organize or hide cables neatly. Especially when connecting several devices like a TV, game console, receiver, or speakers, cables can quickly become tangled – both visible on the back and inside the cabinets.

Does anyone know efficient, practical methods to route cables invisibly and safely through or behind Besta furniture? I would also appreciate tips on accessories or DIY solutions that improve cable routing without requiring extensive drilling or modifications. How do you handle cable management with this furniture? I’m open to any suggestions, especially solutions that also look tidy and visually appealing.

I have found that combining hook-and-loop straps with cable clips works very well. This way, I can bundle and move the cables modularly without having to dismantle the entire system. It works especially well for the wiring behind the Besta and keeps the back somewhat tidy.

That sounds like a pragmatic solution, but do you have any experience whether the cable ducts tend to come loose after prolonged use or cause difficulties when removing individual cables?

Good question, which I have also thought about. With self-adhesive cable ducts, I make sure the surface is completely dust-free and press them firmly into place. This way, they hold securely for several months without any issues. If you need to frequently unplug individual cables, I would recommend clip systems or Velcro straps to stay flexible.

What really helps are those flexible spiral wraps or Velcro straps

That sounds very interesting to me, especially the spiral wraps — I will definitely try them out since they provide extra strain relief and keep the cables neatly bundled. Thanks for the tip!
