Hello everyone, I am looking for smart cable management solutions specifically for Ikea Besta furniture. These cabinet and shelving systems are quite flexible but often lack built-in or well-thought-out options to organize or hide cables neatly. Especially when connecting several devices like a TV, game console, receiver, or speakers, cables can quickly become tangled – both visible on the back and inside the cabinets.

Does anyone know efficient, practical methods to route cables invisibly and safely through or behind Besta furniture? I would also appreciate tips on accessories or DIY solutions that improve cable routing without requiring extensive drilling or modifications. How do you handle cable management with this furniture? I’m open to any suggestions, especially solutions that also look tidy and visually appealing.

I simply installed cable ducts on the back of the BESTA unit and routed the cables inside them. These ducts are available either with adhesive backing or for screwing, depending on your preference. This way, the cables are neatly bundled and hardly visible.

Great topic! I love my BESTA furniture, but without good cable management, it just doesn’t work! What really helps are flexible spiral wraps or hook-and-loop straps to bundle cables together. Inside, I use double-sided hook-and-loop tape to secure power strips and extension cords. That way, nothing shifts around! It’s simply brilliant how much neater everything looks! 😊✨

I secured all the cables behind the BESTA unit using cable clips and routed the wiring through holes in the back panel frame. This provides firm support and prevents cable clutter.

That sounds like a practical solution, but do you have any experience with whether the cable conduits tend to come loose over time or cause difficulties when removing individual cables? I’m a bit concerned that frequent unplugging might lead to a messy setup.

It’s important to me that the cable management remains flexible. Maybe others have tips on how to organize cable routing so that you don’t have to take everything apart each time. That would be really helpful!

A often underestimated solution is providing cable pass-throughs with rubber grommets in the back panel or on the inner shelves of the BESTA furniture. These allow for neat cable routing without sharp edges that could damage the cables.

Those skilled in DIY can replace or supplement the back panel with an affordable thin wooden board with pre-cut openings. For mounting power strips, slim metal brackets fixed on the inside work well to keep everything flush and neatly stored. This way, everything stays organized and easily accessible.
