Hello everyone, I’m planning to get the Ikea Brimnes system, but I want to assemble it as quickly and efficiently as possible. Are there any users here with experience in fast assembly of this furniture? I’m specifically looking for tips on preparation, tools to have ready, or tricks that significantly reduce the assembly time. My main goal is to avoid common pitfalls to make the process smooth and time-saving. Thanks in advance!

Hey Tau-se, great question! For assembling the BRIMNES, I always have a few tried-and-true tips that really make a difference: - It’s best to lay out and sort all the parts beforehand. It sounds obvious, but it saves a lot of time since you don’t have to look for anything. - A cordless drill with the right bit is definitely the way to go; regular screwdrivers should only be used in an emergency. - Important: Don’t tighten every screw fully at first. Instead, loosely assemble all parts first, then tighten everything at the end. This ensures everything fits perfectly and you can still make adjustments. That way, you can start smoothly and quickly without stress. If you want, I can also share my experience with specific assembly steps – BRIMNES has its little quirks 😉

Sort all parts beforehand and arrange them within easy reach. Use a cordless drill instead of hand tools. Insert screws loosely at first, then tighten them fully.

To add to the previous advice: One side of BRIMNES, especially the back panels and drawer slides, requires precise alignment. If you work too quickly here, you will need to make adjustments later. My tip is to follow the assembly instructions carefully step by step and avoid fully tightening any components prematurely. Using small washers on the screws can also improve stability. The key is to work patiently, which will save time in the long run.

Thank you for the tips so far! I’m wondering about the screws: Is there a specific order in which it’s best to tighten them? How exactly does a loose approach prevent having to unscrew and re-tighten screws later on? I’m worried that this might actually end up taking more time.

Yes, definitely! Here’s my approach: First, insert all the screws just enough so the parts hold together but aren’t fully tightened yet. This is especially important for components that need precise alignment later, like drawer slides or side panels. Once everything is properly positioned, tighten the screws gradually, step by step. This way, you avoid having to loosen screws later because something got warped or misaligned. My motto: start loose, then finalize carefully 😊
