I recently purchased a Pax wardrobe from IKEA and am currently customizing it. I noticed that the standard door handles don’t quite meet my expectations. My question is: Are there alternative door handles for Pax wardrobes that are not from IKEA? I am especially thinking of handles that are easy to install, durable, and perhaps look a bit more unique and high-quality.
If anyone has experience with third-party suppliers, DIY solutions, or other installation options, I would really appreciate detailed tips. Maybe there are specific dimensions or technical details to watch out for to ensure the handle fits properly and the door remains fully functional.

It’s good that this question about installation came up, as precise preparation is crucial. If you want to drill new holes, I recommend the following:
- Use a drill stand or a drilling jig to ensure straight and accurate work.
- Carefully mark the spots with a sharp pencil and double-check the measurements.
- Start by drilling a pilot hole with a very thin drill bit to create a clean centering point.
- Pay attention to the door thickness to avoid drilling through.
- To protect the surface, apply masking tape so it doesn’t chip or splinter.
If you’re unsure, you can first practice on a scrap piece of wood. I have done various modifications on Pax myself and always achieved good results this way.
