Are there suitable lighting options for the Ikea PAX?
I recently purchased a PAX wardrobe and am now looking for a lighting solution that integrates well. It is especially important to me that the installation is simple, possibly LED lighting for comfortable and energy-efficient illumination that highlights the clothes well. Maybe Ikea offers matching products, but third-party options could also be interesting if the dimensions and mounting possibilities fit. What are your experiences or recommendations—are there specific lighting elements you would suggest for the PAX? Tips for installation or alternatives to increase the light inside the wardrobe would also be very helpful.

Regarding power supply: Battery-operated LED lights are very flexible and easy to install since no wiring is needed. However, they usually require battery replacement depending on usage, which involves some maintenance.
Mains-powered solutions are consistently reliable and often brighter but require access to an electrical outlet or connection to the electrical system, which is more complex. For Pax wardrobe installations, special transformer-based systems can be used that are discreetly built inside.
I recommend durable mains-powered LEDs for frequent use, if power supply is readily available. For flexible applications or rental properties, battery-operated lights are a good alternative.

How do you assess the advantages and disadvantages of battery-powered versus mains-powered lighting solutions specifically for the PAX?From my experience, battery-powered LEDs have the downside that they require batteries more frequently with regular use and sometimes provide slightly dimmer light. Mains-powered options are usually brighter and better suited for continuous lighting but require more planning during installation and are less flexible than battery-operated lights.
I think the Ikea "Omlopp" LED strips are really practical because they can be installed quickly – almost like a lighting makeover for the PAX wardrobe!
And if you want to make it really fancy, you can combine them with motion sensors. This way, the light turns on automatically when you open the closet, which is very convenient.
Battery operation sounds convenient at first, but I’ve forgotten to change the batteries several times – you either need patience or an alert for new batteries! ?
Additionally, the even LED light looks very stylish and helps you pick the right outfit. So, I definitely recommend them.
