Hello everyone,
I have now received my first offer for 18 windows and I am quite shocked by the installation costs...
We have 18 windows, including a lift-and-slide door measuring 3.40 m (11 feet), a floor-to-ceiling unit of 3.0 m (10 feet), 2 small windows, and 15 windows all the same size (1.3 m x 1.3 m / 4 feet 3 inches x 4 feet 3 inches). Installation is straightforward and does not require scaffolding.
Question to all fellow builders willing to share their experience, and especially to @11ant: Is it standard market practice to pay more than 9,000 euros gross for the installation of 18 windows including window sills on 15 of them? Another offer is expected soon, and I haven’t started negotiating this one yet. But I’m already curious :-)

Hello,
I believe far too little information has been provided here to make a well-founded statement. For example, do you mean "window flashings" when you say "window sills"?
It also depends on the wall construction. With a sensitive ETICS (external thermal insulation composite system) made of wood fiber insulation boards, window sills are essential for a service life of more than 5 years for the building. From my own experience: these are really expensive! With insulation wedges, a second water-bearing layer, etc., including installation, costs can quickly add up to around €300 per linear meter.
Regarding the 5 roller shutters, we also don’t know if they are 30cm (12 inches) wide and 1m (3 feet) long, or 4m (13 feet) wide and 2.8m (9 feet) long?
What now? Just post the full quote anonymized… 3.4; 3.0 and 3x1.3 roller shutters
Standard 36.5 cm (14 inches) brick
Exterior window flashing
Thanks for the tip about the comparison quote! I specifically mentioned that in my original post…

This is how our offer is put together. Including a 4m (13 feet) lift-and-slide door, external venetian blinds on the ground floor, roller shutters on the upper floor, aluminum front door including sidelight, and garage door. The windows are anthracite-colored uPVC from Weru.
Many thanks to you for this! It’s helpful to have a comparison to see!chamäleon schrieb:
