I want to install 3D wall panels on a wall in my house. The manufacturer recommends a very expensive special adhesive (of course) and the also costly primer. Does anyone have experience with these panels? Can I possibly use alternative products for installation?

Hello Sebastian,
from your post, I understand that you plan to use panels made of bamboo fiber and sugarcane. Since I am also replying here as a DIY enthusiast, I strongly recommend using the products that the manufacturer suggests or requires. Adhesives and primers are matched to the product.
The primer primarily serves to "seal" the panels, aiming to largely prevent any movement or warping of the boards. You have probably already researched the preparation, application, priming, and final coating.

How do you plan to install the panels? With or without joints?
