ᐅ Are deeper shelves available for Ikea Besta units?

Hello,

is it possible to get deeper shelves for the Besta wall shelving system? The reason is that with open shelf compartments followed by a closed one below, there is a gap between the door and the shelf. This is because the shelves of the Besta system do not align flush with the front edge of the unit...

I couldn’t find anything on the Ikea website— or did I search incorrectly?

You are right, unfortunately that is the case.
The boards can be installed flush at the front or the back, but there will always be a gap.

Since the gap is at the back, I don’t find it too problematic. You can’t really see it when items are on the shelf. You can also add something underneath the shelf to protect against dust, but I haven’t had any issues with dust from above so far because there is another shelf directly above it and it’s located at the back against the wall.

I don’t find the gap that problematic. Since it’s at the back, it’s not visible. I also use these types of spacers, so dust doesn’t stand a chance.
