is it possible to get deeper shelves for the Besta wall shelving system? The reason is that with open shelf compartments followed by a closed one below, there is a gap between the door and the shelf. I couldn’t find anything on the Ikea website— or did I search incorrectly?
Many thanks

Thank you very much You are right, unfortunately that is the case.
The boards can be installed flush at the front or the back, but there will always be a gap.

VanniFunny12 Dec 2012 17:43Since the gap is at the back, I don’t find it too problematic. You can’t really see it when items are on the shelf. You can also add something underneath the shelf to protect against dust, but I haven’t had any issues with dust from above so far because there is another shelf directly above it and it’s located at the back against the wall.
