ᐅ Architect fees? How much did you pay? What is a typical cost?

Hello everyone,

We are just at the very beginning of our planning process. We have now received a quote from the architect for the design of our semi-detached house. €8,100 for 3 design versions (meaning if the house needs to be completely redesigned three times).

What do you think of this price? That would be €4,050 per half of the house. Is this a reasonable price? What did you pay your architect?

Thank you very much in advance for your answers!

As described elsewhere, there will be 4 small residential units with 2 units of approximately 65m2 (700 sq ft) and 2 units of approximately 50m2 (540 sq ft).
Socially a bit
One small residential unit of 50m2 (540 sq ft) on the ground floor is for me. The rest will be rented out.
We want to build ecologically (buzzword "sustainable")!

And where do the 400,000 figures come from, and why would they be unrealistic (it is more)?

424,200, okay no, then that’s fine. Usual fee. Do you already have the floor plans, or is that why you’re starting from phase 3 of the project?

Floor plans are already available. Since the plot sizes and the building envelope almost entirely define the exterior shell, the focus is mostly still on the interior. However, our wish is that this part can be reviewed and optimized once again. I hope this can be negotiated.

@superzapp I would say that you want to discuss a personal matter and are hijacking the original poster’s personal issue for that. Is that something people do? I don’t see the point other than just leaving the original poster hanging here.

No, she is employed at an engineering office, which was recommended by a well-known builder.

So she bills through this company?
Well, as I said before, a design office offers a standardized service. Academic skills and creative design tend to be given lower priority here.
I wouldn’t expect much. But that’s exactly what this forum is good for—fixing flawed floor plans from unmotivated planners. So, until next time.

Hello ypg,

That was not my intention. But when I look at it objectively, it definitely appears that way. For that, I apologize to the original poster! I will try to avoid this in the future.

I will start a new thread tomorrow... I can no longer delete or move the posts anyway.

This is also quite successful here with self-designed plans from homeowners who are more motivated than skilled.
