Hello everyone,
I have a question. We are getting a subsidized air-to-water heat pump and are building through a general contractor (GC) with a fixed price that includes the heating system. We chose a better heating system, which is also eligible for the subsidy.
I spoke with the heating installer regarding the subsidy. He said he wants to complete and submit the application now, but it would be done through the GC and not through us. Since he has to send an invoice issued to the GC, as the GC is also the client.
I’m not very happy about this because the GC would receive the subsidy, and I would have to chase them for it afterwards.
Who of you has also built with a GC and installed a subsidized heat pump? How was the application handled in your case?

Have you already signed the offer? The application for funding must be submitted before purchasing the heating system. If the heating system is included in the main contract with your general contractor, signing that contract counts as the purchase, and at that point, it would be too late.

Hello,
That is not correct!
The basic subsidy is applied for after commissioning.
For the innovation subsidy, the application must be submitted before the measures begin.
Olli Good to know. I will read up on that in more detail.

I inquired at BAFA today about subsidies for new buildings regarding hot water heating.
According to BAFA, for new constructions, this must be approved in advance, but this only applies to buildings with 3 or more residential units; all others are excluded.
For existing properties, meaning retrofitting, funding can be granted up to 9 months after commissioning.
