Suppentrulli27 Dec 2016 09:28Hello,
Unfortunately, the tiler forgot to properly clean the tiles after installation while I was abroad. I’ve attached a photo—on the right side of the original tile, I cleaned it a little while wet, but the color didn’t improve much. I’ve read that amidosulfonic acid or phosphoric acid can be used for cleaning; will these remove the cloudy residue? The completely white deposits are just dust from the construction site, which can be wiped off with some effort when damp, as shown on the right.

I would appreciate any tips. Regular tile cleaner from a hardware store doesn’t help at all.
Best regards and Happy New Year,
Suppentrulli

Suppentrulli27 Dec 2016 16:19Hey Yvonne, I already tried the veil remover from the hardware store, but unfortunately, it didn’t have much effect. The photos are JPG files, maybe it’s due to the thumbnail? It works fine on the PC.
I have a clearer view now.
I would contact the tiler. It should probably look like the sample tile? It might be a defect. Under a contract governed by the German Construction Contract Procedures (Baugesetzbuch), you can report a defect within 5 years, but please do so formally, meaning in writing with a specific timeframe.

But the dirt and effort involved is too much for me. That’s why I’m asking about experiences with cleaning agents, especially stronger ones, since the standard products haven’t helped.
