We have a question

Our plasterers applied the exterior render, and when removing the protective film, we noticed that all the window sills (anodized aluminum) are damaged. They are covered with large stains caused by the render, which has affected the surface.

Has anyone experienced the same or does anyone have advice on what can be done to improve their appearance?

Each trade has, or should have, liability insurance to cover such damages – in this case, the plastering company 🙂

Report defects to the home builder with a reasonable deadline, for example, 3 months.

Hello

Thank you for your responses.

Yes, we have a new build. No, these are not scratches; to us, it looks like the anodized surface is damaged (corroded during the plastering work).

We will definitely consult an expert who will take a close look at the window sills.

Why hire an expert?

For obvious defects, a written complaint without an expert is sufficient.
An expert assesses things that you, as a layperson, cannot evaluate.
An expert does not need to confirm visible damage or defects.
