We have a question

Our plasterers applied the exterior render, and when removing the protective film, we noticed that all the window sills (anodized aluminum) are damaged. They are covered with large stains caused by the render, which has affected the surface.

Has anyone experienced the same or does anyone have advice on what can be done to improve their appearance?

Do all "Simsen" refer to exterior window sills? Do you have any pictures?

Yes, the same thing happened to us, and no, we couldn’t restore the window sills to their original condition... so now the sills just have stains.

Hello

Unfortunately, all the photos of the exterior window sills look like this.

Hello Nofret

I was hoping there might still be a way to somewhat limit or fix the damage.

Best regards

If these are scratches, you obviously won’t be able to remove them.
If there is some kind of dirt or residue on top, you can of course wash it off.

To me, it looks like the protective layer has undergone a chemical reaction with the plastering compound. In that case, it’s hardly salvageable.

If it’s a new build, you should report the damage to the site manager or construction company and have it repaired.
