Hello, we are looking for an alternative to aluminum exterior window sills. We currently have these in our rental apartment, and I find it very unpleasant when the rain hits them.
My question is, what alternatives are there? How durable are they, and what price range can be expected? Apart from granite, I havenât really found anything suitable.
Thank you,
Hilaria

Sorry for my unclear question.
So, we havenât decided on anything yet and were told the following:
For window sills that are not made of aluminumâregardless of whether they are granite, stone, or other materialsâthere is always the mentioned risk. Namely, that cracks may form in the masonry and water or moisture can penetrate.
Therefore, the question is, is this really the case?
No, we are not building with external wall insulation systems; we are building with brick without additional insulation.

Monolithic construction â that small detail should definitely be mentioned. I thought these had all disappeared with the energy saving regulations...
Unfortunately, I only know of one construction project with aluminum window sills in this context. However, I would be very interested to learn where this type of construction is still used and what the results look like.
Best regards,
