Hello,
I have a question for all of you... I have an ex-boyfriend who has been harassing me, to put it mildly. It has even gotten to the point where he has tried to break into my home... Now I have been thinking about installing an alarm system and wanted to ask if they are reliable and if using one can help you feel safer...

Then I would still have something for self-defense on hand... pepper spray or something similar... The police do hurry when they know you are still inside the house...

Ok, I have it on me all the time anyway, because it’s always watching me... But what kind of alarm system should I get? Can you recommend one?

I would definitely go for a slightly more expensive one... They are also the safest... Wishing you all the best anyway... Take care of yourself...

Yes, thank you very much for all the information. I will take care of myself, and soon an entire police station will do as well. Thanks.

Hello,
I am also considering whether a security alarm system might be useful.
There have been several break-ins in the neighborhood recently.
Or if it might be better to better secure doors and windows.
While searching online, I came across this book:

-Self-Protection- Effectively Preventing Burglaries
by Siegfried F. Hübner; ISBN-13: 978-3941538504

According to this book, it is probably more effective to focus on passive security measures and improve the protection of doors and windows.
An alarm system is, of course, cheaper than new windows and doors.
The house was built in the 1960s, and the windows/doors date from around the mid-1980s.
What should I do now?
Best regards, Jenny123
