If standard parts are installed—ones that even an inexperienced burglar could bypass in no time—then an alarm system doesn’t help much, since it usually only signals unauthorized entry, depending on the system.
With high-quality mechanical protection, an alarm system might not even be necessary.
First of all, it should be ensured that burglars have the hardest time opening windows or doors in the first place.
If this hasn’t been done yet, it’s worth visiting a police security advisory office to get professional advice.
Personally, I would invest money in mechanical protective devices first, and only consider adding an alarm system later if needed. Of course, conduits for wiring an alarm system can be installed during the house construction phase.
