ᐅ Air-to-water heat pump, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery?

Hello!
We are currently planning a single-family house with 172m2 (1850 sq ft) of living space here in the north, working with a well-established general contractor.
I want to build according to the KfW 55 standard and take advantage of the related funding.
I was shocked by the quoted all-inclusive price of 27,965 EUR for the following system:
Viessmann - Vitocal 200-A + (air-to-water heat pump)
Viessmann - Vitovent 300-F (central controlled ventilation with heat recovery)
They credited me 2,000 EUR for a gas condensing boiler.
My questions:
1. Is this a reasonable price? As I said, I was quite surprised.
2. Would a gas condensing boiler combined with solar thermal system plus controlled supply and exhaust ventilation with heat recovery also meet the KfW 55 requirements? (Additional insulation is in place)
I urgently need your advice.
Thanks in advance!

Before April 1st, you also need a supervisor for KFW55, right?I believe there were different options for that. Starting April 1st, you definitely get a 50% subsidy, and some of the guidelines have changed. We had a meeting this week. Let’s see when we get information on what we are allowed to do and what not.

Sebastian7915 Apr 2016 19:09Yes, with KfW 70 it was less strict, but with the 55 standard it was already more demanding, so financially it usually wasn’t worthwhile if the consultant enforced it properly.

Or can this be categorically ruled out as not feasible?I’m not a construction expert, but I’d say yes ☺
Our builder, who also does a lot of work as a property developer, is currently having his old KFW70 house model recalculated. The insulation was apparently already better than required, but for simplicity, some calculations were probably done using general surcharges.
The goal is definitely to achieve KFW55 with minimal changes using only a gas condensing boiler plus solar thermal, without ventilation.
I’ll ask him in the next few days to get an update on the current status.

Bauexperte16 Apr 2016 12:01Hello,
Yes and no.
It depends on which type of wall construction is used (solid masonry, masonry plus external thermal insulation composite system / ETICS, or masonry plus insulation plus cladding) and _where_ and _how much_ additional insulation has been installed. Unfortunately, this cannot be answered in a generalized way.
Best regards, Bauexperte

I urgently need your advice.Robert,
that price is for heating plus installation in your house.
It is definitely within the usual range. The price is realistically fair.
This is very reputable equipment, excellent quality.
Controlled ventilation systems tend to be quite expensive but definitely worth it.
With a gas condensing boiler you save 2,000 EUR and the gas connection (about 2,000 EUR depending on local conditions).
KFW55: You should build with an air-to-water heat pump or a ground-source heat pump straight away. Nothing else. Anything else would be a step backwards and pointless. We are in 2016, and these are the standard requirements now.
Keep the ventilation system – it’s really brilliant. You will appreciate it.
Best regards
Thorsten
