I am currently experimenting with my heating curve and would be interested to know what supply temperatures you are running with your air-to-water heat pump combined with underfloor heating?

I had exactly the same problem.
Then I adjusted the compressor. In my case, it can be set like a heating curve.
For an ambient temperature of 15°C (59°F), for example, it only runs at 15%.
I also have 8 kW.

I don’t want to hijack the thread. I could probably adjust the hysteresis. But the fundamental problem of the machine being too large cannot be fixed.

If your system runs continuously for 8-9 hours during the current transition period, everything is generally within acceptable limits.

Yes, the consumption rates are consistent, and it’s nicely warm as well. At the moment, I’m not really eager to make any changes. Never change a running system.

Currently, I am not sure who is being referred to with which questions here.

My system
Vaillant Arotherm-Split 3.5 kW heating capacity
House heating load at -12°C (10°F) approximately 2.5–2.8 kW
At the moment, I have limited the capacity using the boosting mode. However, it still can only go up to 60%, so the system is still delivering too much power.

ERR valves are disconnected, and the bypass valve is either closed or set to the maximum opening pressure required for the bypass to activate.

Since the heating load at the current temperatures is likely hardly more than 1–1.5 kW.

But with 15-20 cycles, something still doesn’t seem right.

Do you maybe have a buffer tank in the system? :p
