Hi,

I am looking at a house (timber frame construction) built in 2011 with a fresh air heating system (air-to-air heat pump + photovoltaic), as well as a wood stove. My expertise in this area is still limited, so I am curious why there is also an electric heater in the bathroom, which seems to have been retrofitted. Does this indicate any kind of problem or is it normal?

Thank you.

Yes, I will. The information comes from the seller, so it can be assumed to be accurate, at least for the preliminary research.

The cost of the heat pump should be around €100.
Expensive business

100€/month of course ... forget it.

Are you prone to colds or do you have other health issues related to dry air? Then stay away from this. Otherwise, it probably depends on the price whether you accept this rather low-quality heating system or not. What is the energy standard? At KfW 40 or better, it can be acceptable.

Since the total cost of the house will clearly exceed approximately €500,000 (~ $550,000), I am not willing to settle for a low-quality heating system.

Do you know of a reliable website that provides a general overview of heating technologies, including evaluations suitable for a non-expert?

Many thanks
