Hello,
I wanted to order 3 windows online – just in time. We don’t need anything high-end – the windows are for the new workshop. It is insulated but doesn’t even have heating.
We want double-glazed windows sized 160 x 90 cm (63 x 35 inches). Now I’m looking for a supplier who offers solid quality (so no junk) but affordable windows. Does anyone have a tip where to order very cheaply?

In my opinion, cheap and solid are mutually exclusive.
What you are looking for are affordable windows.

But based on your requirements, virtually any double-glazed window would be suitable.

Hmm, let me think. Firstly no, secondly no, and thirdly no. So, that didn’t really help me. Does anyone have a tip from experience buying windows online?

Why not call a small window manufacturer, explain your requirements, mention that you plan to pay cash on collection, and ask for a price?

Well, at our local hardware stores, you can find ready-made windows in standard sizes. Another option is to search online for window delivery services. You can usually find what you need there. Whether these windows are better or worse than those from a local carpenter, I can't say. I got my windows from a window manufacturer nearby, and they didn’t even provide handles. Additionally, water drainage caps and hinge covers were missing, and the installation was strange—they protrude 2cm (0.8 inches) into the room instead of being installed flush with the reveal. The old windowsill was simply left in place, meaning the new window was just placed on top without any proper fitting. So, it’s doubtful that a local specialist is always the better option.

Currently, there is constant advertising on TV from a provider where I ordered 2 windows measuring 150x50 cm (59x20 inches), including window sills, in anthracite foil with laminated safety glass (VSG), for about 430 euros.

The workmanship is very good; the hinges hold the weight of the sash despite the enormous leverage forces acting due to the low height.

Delivery time is approximately 4 weeks.
