Hello everyone,
Wishing you a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year!
I have a quote that I want to understand and compare more objectively than just from the seller’s perspective. 🙂
Offered door:
Ri door leaf CPL Ringolit smooth white (Ringolit is not included in the alternative—Is this a manufacturer or a surface characteristic?)
RSP / R2 round edge
Door leaf thickness approx. 39 mm (1.5 inches) / standard rebate / 2-piece hinge FT, nickel-plated
BB class 1 KFKR 20-235 55, silver-colored
Without keyhole drilling
Alternative from a DIY store, may I mention which one? It is a German manufacturer (Am I allowed to mention this?)
CPL Arctic White similar to RAL 9016 (GL222)
Simple interior door in lightweight construction with round edge
Robust and thermally insulated thanks to hollow core panel
Scratch- and abrasion-resistant due to easy-care surface made of decorative foil
Offered frame:
Ri frame CPL Ringolit smooth white
R2 edge / cladding 63 mm (2.5 inches) : What does the 63 mm mean?
For door leaf thickness approx. 39 mm (1.5 inches) / standard rebate / frame adjustment range -3/+17 mm (-0.1/+0.7 inches) : Is the adjustment range the same at the DIY store?
2-piece hinge RT ZH, nickel-plated / hinge load capacity 60 kg (132 lbs) / strike plate no. 377, silver-colored / frame sealing
Why am I asking? The price difference for the frame is about 30 euros, but for the door leaf one price is twice as high. I want to know if it is worth investing the extra money for 10 doors!
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,

If I replace all the doors, should they all look the same, or do the ringolit and the ones from the hardware store look the same? They might look similar, but definitely not identical.
If doors are handled with care and there are no particularly clumsy people or lively children in the house, very inexpensive doors work perfectly well. The basic standard offered is already quite good. Objectively, paying extra is usually not worthwhile. Additional costs only make sense if there are higher demands on durability, sound insulation, ease of cleaning, or design (feel/appearance).
We chose the interior doors in our house based on the latter. It was worth paying extra to us, but it wasn’t a necessary additional expense.

In the end... they are doors... just doors.

We have installed various doors from the company Ringo and are quite satisfied with them. The fittings (e.g., handles) are also important. For standard applications, I find them absolutely sufficient. At the time, I would have preferred those from the brand KTM, but I didn’t want to pay the significantly higher price for them.
First of all, thank you very much for the many responses!
We want simple doors without patterns, stripes, etc. The Ringolit offer consists of CPL doors from the company Ringo. I compare them to CPL doors from a hardware store. Now I also understand what a casing is 😉 the width of the door frame that goes onto the wall, meaning the trim! I have two lively little boys, aged 5 and 1.5. I should save the money for now 😉
One difference between Ringo and Westag may be the acoustics! The Ringo door frame can also be somewhat "thicker," which can affect the baseboards, meaning I might need "thicker" baseboards!
