Could one of the experts here explain the advantages and disadvantages of vapor-permeable MDF roofing panels and roofing underlay membranes? Specifically, I am interested in the products "Kronotec DP 50" and "Dörken Delta-Maxx."
Thank you!

The MDF roof panels create a roof sheathing that channels water away; the underlay membrane acts as a secondary drainage layer beneath the roof covering.
Both serve essentially the same purpose when it comes to weather protection.
Otherwise, I don’t see how a wood-based panel could be compared to a polyester fleece.
You won’t go wrong with either one.

We also discussed this topic at a birthday party. It simply cannot be compared, and both are good building materials. I looked at a roof with these MDF roofing panels, and it looks great. Good windproofing was implemented here. The construction also seems very stable to me. These panels will be somewhat more expensive than the roofing underlayment.

I inspected a roof last week. It looks good with these MDF panels. The construction appears very sturdy, and they provide effective windproofing. I believe these panels are more expensive than a roofing underlayment / roofing membrane.

I am wondering about one thing.

How do MDF panels react to moisture?
